Q. “How do you rip the leaves off the stem for kale?” Nicole, Austin.

A. Thanks for asking, Nicole. Here’s how I do it: I grab the whole leaf of kale, turn it rib side up, fold down the two "leaves" so that the rib faces me (holding down the two leaves like two pieces of paper, together, in my left or weaker hand), then I strip out the stem with my right hand, pulling upward and away.
